Capitola by the Sea

Last weekend, I spent some quality R&R with a few friends at Capitola by the Sea. My favorite part of the weekend was an early morning walk I took with my boyfriend. First, we explored the town of Capitola, and eventually wound up at Mr. Toot's Coffee House. There, we ordered a coffee and latte. While waiting for our drinks, we learned the coffee house is periodically visited by a slew of homeless (yet immensely affectionate) neighborhood cats. We then received our drinks, which were delicious I might add.

We walked along the beach with coffees in hand sipping, laughing, pointing, and hand holding as we made our way through the sleepy seaside town that is Capitola, CA. Spotting a party of surfers at the edge of town, we made our way to an upper-level vista point where I snapped this photograph.

Growing up, I have always loved morning beach fog. Oceanside fog forces beach goers to unwind, and start their mornings slow. This Capitola fog did just that. Sometimes it is important to slow down so you can get a chance to refocus on the important things around you. Like when Ferris Bueller said in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't slow down and look around, you might miss it."
